I love the final of MU 1979. Classic beauty Maritza and chocolate beauty Gina Ann Cassandra Swainson of Bermuda. The Venezuelan has great class and elegance. Gina was remarkable in her interviews. Though Gina lost to Maritza, she later won Miss World in London. Great results!
Canada vs Venezuela.
Just like Maritza in 1979, Irene Saez topped the preliminaries. The shocking part was that Dominique Dofour was 12th in the prelims. She was able to finished 4th in the semis and eventually second to Irene. I agree with Irene's victory.
Battle of the Powerhouses.
This MU edition was a tough one. Christy and Barbara were equally stunning. Miss USA topped the prelims followed by Barbara. During the semifinals, the ranking was reversed. I love both of them. Even if the result was reversed, I would be okay with that.
Venezuela vs The Neighbor - Aruba
We thought it was Ali versus Alicia - a repeat of 1986, as these both women are considered as superbeauties. The elimination of Ali was an advantage for Alicia. In the final round, Taryn gave the best answer, but again the bubbliness of Alicia ruled!
Twirl vs Spin
Wow! Another lovely final two! In the earlier part of the contest, Taliana was leading, I almost thought that Colombia has already bagged its second crown, but alas, Tali got nervous and choked. Again the bubbly personality of a Venezuelan gave her the title.
A repeat top 2 of 2003.
Venezuela did the unthinkable - back to back! This one is quite controversial, both Ada and Stefania gave great answers but what made the difference? Stefania was more confident than Ada in answering the question and even the content shows confidence!
